Did you know if you’re a veteran with a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Repatriation Health Card or a DVA White Repatriation Health Card specifying hearing loss, that you could be eligible to access a range of hearing devices to help you around the home?
The DVA Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP) gives you access to aids and appliances, which help you maintain independence in your home.
Hearing-related approved devices available under the program include:
- Wireless headset that connects remotely with your television
- Personal amplifier that provides sound direct from your TV or music player
- Remote control device for adjusting your hearing aid
- FM listening system that sends sounds via a microphone directly to your ears through either your hearing aids or a headset
- Portable doorbell with signal light
- Portable telephone coupler that attaches easily to any telephone to amplify sound
- Induction loop for hearing aids, to allow you to hear true stereo sound
For more information or to arrange a demonstration of these products, call your local Australian Hearing centre on 131 797. You can also click here to see the approved list of hearing devices.
